Role of TiaRental
TiaRental operates as a booking marketplace and intermediary for offers supplied by independent rental companies. Unless the checkout clearly states otherwise, the vehicle rental contract is concluded directly between the customer and the selected rental company, which remains responsible for supplying the vehicle and performing the rental service.
Driver requirements
- Default minimum driver age: 21 years.
- Default minimum driving experience: 2 years.
- The main driver must present an original valid driving licence and passport or identity card.
- A supplier may set stricter requirements when they are disclosed before payment.
Pick-up and return
- Vehicles are collected and returned in Albania unless the confirmed voucher states otherwise.
- The standard waiting grace period is 60 minutes.
- The vehicle must be returned with the agreed fuel level and in reasonably clean condition.
- Traffic fines, parking charges, tolls and penalties remain the customer’s responsibility.
Cross-border travel
- Travel outside Albania is permitted only for vehicles that explicitly allow it.
- Every destination country must be declared before confirmation.
- Additional insurance, documents, fees or a higher deposit may apply.
- Entering an undeclared or prohibited country is a material breach of the rental agreement.
Payment and deposit
The checkout clearly separates the online amount charged by TiaRental from the balance due directly to the rental company. In the standard launch model, TiaRental collects only the disclosed online booking/platform amount through the payment provider shown at checkout; the rental company collects its displayed balance and any refundable deposit at vehicle handover. TiaRental does not store full card details.
Vehicle condition and damage
The supplier and customer should document the vehicle condition at pick-up and return. Damage charges are handled under the supplier’s rental agreement and applicable insurance terms. TiaRental may facilitate communication and collect supporting documents during a dispute.
